The Ultimate Glamping Experience In The North East

Category

Glamping is a portmanteau of “glamorous” and “camping”, a form of luxurious camping which gives guests a unique travel experience and typically involves more luxurious accommodation, amenities and facilities – different to traditional camping which consists of pitching up a tent or towing a caravan. Glamping was added to the Oxford English dictionary in 2016 on account of its increasing popularity and is regularly referred to as “posh camping."

Dating back almost 1,000 years, glamping is a travel trend that isn’t going anywhere – think wooden Wigwam cabins (also known as glamping pods), tipis or belle tents, safari tents, geodomes, tree houses, shepherd’s huts and yurts. If you’re not too keen on fully embracing outdoor camping, glamping is a great alternative, allowing you to take advantage of the outdoors and countryside whilst still enjoying home comforts and a touch of luxury that in many cases surpasses a hotel experience and provides you with additional freedom to relax as you want. Perfect for a staycation or weekend glamping break in Northumberland.
