AA Platinum Pennant Herding Hill Farm is one of the best campsites in Northumberland, with a choice of tent and touring facilities, Wigwam cabins with hot tub, adults only glamping pods with hot tub and a luxury lodge. Additional amenities at this 5 star camping site include an indoor campers kitchen, animal petting farm and a sauna.

Platinum pennant campsites are considered to be amongst the very best campsites in the UK, with all of them being 5 star camping sites. AA Platinum Stars recognise the very best campsites and caravan parks that consistently offer outstanding camping experiences. Awarded by the AA team of inspectors, this supreme accolade is awarded to the very best camping parks with a Quality Score of 95% and above with a 5 Star rating. Herding Hill Farm is one of only three of the best campsites in Northumberland to be awarded the AA Platinum Pennant, and among less than 60 to receive the accolade nationally.

Inspectors praised the luxury glamping accommodation and ‘first-class’ campsite facilities at the family-friendly site, which is less than a mile from Hadrian’s Wall and attracts visitors from across the UK.

Whilst our sister site Drummohr Camping and Glamping near Edinburgh took the overall title of Campsite of the Year, Herding Hill Farm was also commended in the award for Campsite of the Year by readers of Camping magazine. The Campsite Of The Year award was decided by a public vote by readers of the magazine, campers on their email database, visitors to the website Out And About Live and social media followers.

Herding Hill Farm was highly commended in the 2023 Northeast England Tourism Awards as being one of the best campsites in Northumberland.
