We think our luxury campsite in Northumberland, right on Hadrian’s Wall,, is a superb location for a stress-free weekend or short break. However, we know that many of you like to also venture a little further afield. We are so lucky that the beautiful beaches of the Northumberland Coast, the jaw dropping lakes and mountains of the Lake District, the rolling Yorkshire Dales and the splendid scenery of Southern Scotland are all less than an hour away. Coupled with the culture, history and food opportunities the North of England area is made for exploring the way that you want to.

Available for hire to collect from our campsite, every campervan includes everything you need to enjoy a luxury camping experience. We’ve set our campervan hire periods up so you can enjoy the freedom of a long weekend away without committing to a 7-day hire and we think that there is so much to do within a 2-hour drive of Hadrian’s Wall that you won’t have to drive too far. A great opportunity for couples or families with small children to spend some quality time together.

With our luxury campsite right near Hadrian’s Wall, you may choose to spend a few days here, in the heart of Northumberland or perhaps visit the stunning scenery of Southern Scotland, the Yorkshire Dales or the Lake District. The beauty of our campervans for hire is that you have complete freedom to explore all that this beautiful part of the UK has to offer. Features of our vans

Our two modern glossy VW T6 2.0l Transporter campervans (Navy with black/orange interior or brown with brown/cream) sleep up to 2 adults and 2 small children in the roof. Both are manual transmission and extremely fuel efficient and have been kitted out to an extremely high specification to provide the 5-star luxury camping you would expect from Herding Hill Farm. The campervans don’t have toilets or showers, but our friendly wardens can help you identify excellent 4 and 5-star sites locally if you need us to. They are perfect for those people who want to enjoy the freedom and beauty of luxury camping without the bulk of a motorhome.

Pots, pans, crockery and utensils supplied with the camper van but you will need to bring your own bedding and towels - view the full list here. One of our vans is pet friendly for one small well-behaved dog, with an additional cleaning charge of £25 per hire.

Our collection days are after 3pm Friday and Tuesday, with drop-off by 10am on a Monday and Friday. You can hire the campervans for a minimum of three nights Fri-Mon or Tues-Fri. Our insurance allows UK hire only. Prices start from £240 for a 3-night stay in low season increasing to £420 high season. Our Booking Hire Fee quoted includes:

• Hire of the camper van, fixtures and fittings and all living equipment
• 500 free miles, thereafter miles are charged at 10 pence per mile
• UK fully comprehensive vehicle insurance
• UK breakdown cover
• Free secure parking for one vehicle at Herding Hill Farm
• You will be required to leave your car keys

Our insurers operate strict eligibility requirements so before hiring one of our campervans please read clause 3 of our terms and conditions to ensure that you are eligible. You must be over 25 and less than 75 years old, have held a full driving licence for two years, not had more than one fault incident or had your license suspended within the last three years, had no more than two convictions with a maximum of three points per conviction and have not obtained a BA (disqualified driver), DD (reckless/dangerous driving) or UT (theft or unauthorised taking) conviction. We take no responsibility if we are unable to release the vehicle to you if you are not found to be eligible on collection. We also require a refundable security deposit of £750 payable by credit card at least 7 days prior to departure to cover our insurance excess.
